Hello!
I hope you’re having an amazing month.
Thank you for you partnership that allows me to fulfill the Great Commission together. I pray that you are experiencing God’s grace during this fall season.
Today, October 1st, is arrival day here at YWAM Kona! We’re welcoming around 520 students from all over the world as they begin their Discipleship Training School (DTS).
I’ve been back at YWAM for about three weeks now. During this time, we’ve had staff training and team outings, which has been such a great way to grow together, get to know each other better, and strengthen our ability to work as a team and as a family.
Here’s a look at what I’ve been up to these past few weeks:
Staff Onboarding
Staff Onboarding is designed for all new staff across the different ministries here at YWAM. During this time, we learned about the history of YWAM, YWAM Ships, Hawaiian culture, campus security, campus health, and so much more. Beyond the training itself, it was also an incredible opportunity to meet other new staff from different ministries on campus, build relationships, and hear more about the work they’re doing.

Lecture during onboarding

We got the opportunity to hear from the Co-Founder of YWAM, Darlene Cunningham, and the CEO/ President, David Hamilton. (Right)

We got the opportunity to take a tour of the King Kamehameha’s Kona Hotel. Where we learned about the history of the Kings and generation of leaders of Hawaii.
Campus Beautification Day
All staff had the opportunity to serve the campus to clean it up before the students arrive. There were so many things such as, picking weeds, trimming trees, cleaning vans, dusting, setting up the class rooms, etc.
I got to clean the vans :)

Prayer Room
I’m about two weeks into serving with the Prayer Room, and we’re so excited to welcome our new DTS students this quarter! We’ve been putting a lot of planning into this season, preparing for both spiritual and practical growth in worship and prayer.
On a personal note, I’m especially looking forward to growing deeper in worship and writing anthems for the next generation.
I’ve also been asked to take on the role of managing YWAM Kona Prayer Room Media. This will include creating TikTok's and Instagram Reels to highlight upcoming projects and give others a glimpse into what the Prayer Room is all about. This is such a blessing for me, as it combines two of my passions—media and music—into one opportunity to glorify God.

Youth Outreach Ministry
I’ve been invited to help serve with a local Youth Outreach Ministry here in Kona. This ministry connects with the youth on the island by hosting different events every Wednesday. What’s really exciting is that the location is in a main tourist area, which means we’re not only reaching Kona youth, but also tourists from the cruise ships, visitors on vacation, and even the homeless in the area.
I got to share the Gospel with two people that night and make some connections with some high school boys. I am looking forward to serve with this ministry more and more.

This event we set up a movie in a open area and served pizza, popcorn, and lemonade 🍋🍕🍿 In the middle of the movie, we paused it and someone on the team share a testimony that simi related to the movie we were watching. We were watching “Megamind” :)
If you’ve been following The Kyle Anzelone Podcast, you may remember in episode six with John Bell that I shared about a dream I had of being in a college ministry setting. I’m not entirely sure what that will look like in the future, but I know God has given me a deep desire to reach the youth of the next generation.
With that in mind, while I’m here in Kona, I want to be intentional about getting involved with as many local middle and high school students as possible, building relationships and pointing them to Jesus.
Thank you for your continued partnership. Your partnership is helping fuel this movement of prayer, worship, youth, and world missions.
Please pray as we begin to start this next quarter and raise more monthly financial partnerships to continue in full time missions!
